Biography

Lukas Biewald was appointed to Xometry’s Board of Directors in May 2026. He is a two-time founder and current SVP of AI Initiatives at CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWV).

He is the co-founder and former CEO of Weights & Biases, the AI developer platform acquired by CoreWeave in 2025. At the time of acquisition, the platform was used by more than 1 million engineers and over 1,400 organizations worldwide as their system of record for training, fine-tuning, and deploying AI models.

Earlier in his career, Biewald co-founded Figure Eight (formerly CrowdFlower), a machine learning data platform acquired by Appen in 2019. He previously served as Senior Scientist at Powerset and led the Search Relevance team at Yahoo! Japan. Biewald is also the host of Gradient Dissent, a podcast on machine learning in production featuring conversations with leaders from Nvidia, OpenAI, Meta, GitHub, Atlassian, and others at the frontier of applied AI. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
